That’s because many headaches are caused by stress induced tension in the muscles, nerve irritation or by poor posture.

Chiropractic care aimed at releasing that tension, correcting posture or restoring the spine to proper function has been scientifically tested and shown to provide positive results.

•    Making you irritable with those around you;
•    Causing you stress and anxiety when the cause of the headaches is unknown.

Frequent headaches are indeed a worry and while sometimes they may be connected to a serious health issue, more

often than not they are simply the result of tension in the neck and spinal muscles.  Sometimes headaches beget headaches – if you frequently take medication, your body may demand more by creating headaches.

Generally, there are two types of headaches: Primary and secondary.  The very common primary headaches are generally not associated with serious health problems. Examples of these are migraine, cluster headaches and tension

headaches, tension headaches are often characterized by pain behind the eyes and in the forehead. They are often related to stress and muscle tension.

The rarer secondary headaches on the other hand, may be early signs of visual problems, you may need spectacles or less commonly from more serious health condition such as stroke, hemorrhage, or brain tumor. They may also trigger

from other underlying conditions like caffeine, alcohol, cigarette and pain killer addiction. Many people who suffer from different headache symptoms visit a chiropractor, normally your headache symptoms will quickly lessen with Chiropractic treatment and if your chiropractor suspects that they maybe due to a more serious underlying cause he will refer you to your GP for further evaluation.  Less than one in 5 people consult their GP about their headaches.

Chronic headaches may also affect the quality of life. This condition may come and go over a long period of time. The pain may vary in intensity and stress level throughout the day. This may range from mild to severe constant pain, irritation, and pressure around the forehead.

Headaches? see a Chiropractor

A lady with a headaches
Every year thousands of people with headaches are successfully treated by Chiropractors throughout the world. In 2009 The General Chiropractic Council commissioned the Brontfort report, which reviewed the scientific evidence for various types of Chiropractic Care.
The results from randomised clinical trials showed that 4 types of Chronic headache (including Migraine headache) were shown to be helped by Chiropractic treatment of headaches, 3 of which were shown to provide moderate positive evidence and one that showed inconclusive, but favourable evidence.
These are excellent results. I treat headaches fairly regularly, and probably over 50% of these tend to be neck problems with accompanying headaches, In conclusion if you have headaches see a Chiropractor.

Do you use a computer and are prone to neck ache?

Learn to touch type:  Using a computer regularly involves alot of small up and down motions of the head – moving it

It's hard to concentrate at work with neck pain

from document to screen creates a repetitious stress on the muscles and joints of the neck. This can lead to neck, shoulder, upper limb pain and headaches.

Apart from typing alot quicker and concentrating more on the job in hand rather than the keys you will be pressing,  if you can touch type you will be helping yourself to reduce tension in the upper back and neck.
